Welcome to AssociateLocator.com
Graduating from law school and studying for the bar exam is difficult enough without
the added stress of finding your first job. Nobody understands this more than the
creators of AssociateLocator.com, who are each practicing attorneys and who created
AssociateLocator.com to provide you an efficient, effective and inexpensive means to conduct your first job search.
As you are probably aware, current statistics show that the average time it takes a
law school graduate to find his or her first job is nine months. Often, because of
mounting student debt, a new graduate’s first job is accepted out of financial
necessity rather than choice. A major factor in the delay between graduation and
securing that first position is attributable to communication deficiencies that exist
between the new graduate and his or her prospective employer.
Prior to the development of AssociateLocator.com, direct communication between law
school students and prospective employers was limited to on-campus interviews and
summer internships. Unfortunately, only about one percent of law firms participate
in either of these forms of recruitment, and those that do generally limit their
interest to the top five to ten percent of the students in each graduating class.
This leaves the remaining ninety-nine percent of legal employers and ninety percent
of law school students to find each other simply by chance. Your career resource
department can only do so much. In the end you are stuck with the burden of finding
your first job with very few tools to assist you.
Law firms (small, medium and large), government employers and financial institutions
continue to have a need for more attorneys. It is just a matter of placing your
qualifications in front of the right employer. This is where AssociateLocator.com
can assist you. AssociateLocator.com provides an efficient, effective and inexpensive
